I did this political cartoon as a result of some talk about our current President and how in many speeches he either directly or in a round-about way blames his predecessor for a lot of the things going on which some of them are and some are not. I thought about it for a while and it occurred to me that it is just common practice for administrations to blame the one before them at least for a while or at least as long as they can get away with it. It got me thinking about this question..What is a leader? I know what that means to me and it is most likely different for everyone depending on values, priorities, beliefs and a lot of other things rolled up in there. It was somewhere around that time that this political cartoon popped into my head. There are more people in this cast but I just put the three in there for space on the page reasons. Hope it gives you a smile and have a great day.

Hi Ira, I've just started drawing gag cartoons myself, yours are brilliant!Hi Leah,Thank you very much for the compliment. Are you posting your cartoons anywhere yet?You do not have to answer, as I have just found your blog.-Ira
I have posted them on forums but not officially ;) I've already had a few private commissions though which is great. I'm really enjoying it. I get better with practice so I need more practice! That's great! Congrats! I agree it is fun. I wish you continued success. I have noticed that I seem to get a little better as I continue to practice as well.....I have gotten better in the last year just drawing even when I just don't feel like it.-IraI haven't got the hang of the wacom tablet yet though. I think I shall be pencils and ink for a long while yet!I agree....I do pencil and ink for the base and wacom tablet for cleaning up the lines and all coloring.I used wacom for the first time today, you can see the results on zazzle - see 'dirty scum mug!' You can see it didn't take any great skill, but I hope to improve! I do prefer pencils though and I get less neck and eye strain using them. You are very skilled with wacom though!I will check out Zazzle a little later...finishing up something new for that. I always say go with what works for you and really as far as my stuff is concerned the wacom has little to do with it. I have just been learning more and more little things in the coloring software (photoshop) that has made things a lot easier at least for me it has made it easier.
