I was listening to the chatter on one of the news channels while surfing the web and they where talking about doom and gloom in the real estate market and the high rate of foreclosures across the nation. They also happened to be discussing how many people are upset having their tax dollars going to helping people who got into situations were they are unable to pay their mortgage. They were specifically talking about people who put themselves in that situation by misstating income just to get into the house knowing they would not be able to sustain their lifestyle after the loan readjusted. At about the same time I happened across a Home based business ad on the web and this was the result of those two ideas crossing paths in my mind. I guess a person who was without a home and decided to start selling boxes for a profit would either one, be a real estate agent of sorts or most likely have himself a homeless based business.

Hey Sue,

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

You might find this interesting.....About a decade ago (I can't believe I can say that.) Anyway, I worked for a small landscaping company and we would stop by the folks who were holding up signs that said "Homeless, will work for food." We would offer $10 dollars an hour to help with basic work. The result, after multiple times of being turned down....we just decided these homeless persons were not interested in working their way out of their situation. Having said that I guess it is possible that they did not think the offer was real. Just one of those things I have observed over the course of my life. Best wishes to you and yours.

hi,
i understand what you are saying and where you are coming from, but don't lose sight of the fact that there are many people who just can't make ends meet and have to resort to whatever they can to stay warm and keep their kids warm, a tent, a blanket, a tunnel. with no car, it is difficult, although not impossible, to find work, and get to and from.
the percentage of those you saw turn down work, and the number of homeless is, indeed, small.
keep up the good work,
my best regards,
sue

I agree....the folks I talked with made no bones about the fact that they made good money just sitting their with the sign....so what motivation did they have to do anything else. The greater population of homeless may well indeed be looking and would welcome a way out and into a productive life in fact...I'm absolutely sure someone out there has an example of just that scenario.

Thanks again Sue.
